Life Changing, Family Bonding, Treetop Adventure I think it helps if you are a little afraid of heights, which I am, because by the time you have been three times around the forest on each of the tree top courses, either you will be reduced to a quivvering wreck or your fear of heights will be cured. The circuits use a think stainless steel rope strung from tree to tree upon which guests are attached by a rope to a harness which they climb into. There is also a secondary line attacked to carabineer clip which is largely unnecessary but increases the fear. There are several zip lines one of which is 150m long for the finale. I anticipated that, in typical Japanese fashion, there would be loads of staff pandering to the fears of the guests but such is the thickness of the steel rope to which guests are threaded, once you are up in the trees you are on your own. I did not fall once, which in retrospect I think was a mistake. I should have deliberately jumped off one of the tree to tree tightropes so as to test the steel roped harness and convince myself of its safety.
The only thing that I thought might be dangerous is that the extra carabineer line that customers affix themselves might, in the case of young and inept person, get caught around their head causing them to be hung if they were to fall off. There is just one place where the harness is detached from the steel rope, at the Tarzan swing, at which point it is important not to panic. The nearby park restaurant is also recommended for good food and lots of souvenirs.
I only wish that there were more views, and one of these parks on a mountain looking down on Yamaguchi City. The only view at this park is down.
It is good way to bond with your teenage son, who in our case, is less fearful than his father. You can get a group photo at the beginning and the end by which time you may have turned into a...
Read moreWe LOVED this park! We don’t speak Japanese hardly at all and we’re worried there would be a language barrier but everything was great. The best part is that it is self guided so we took our time and had fun! After learning how to work the equipment we did all four courses. Each different and fun. The Tarzan swing and the zip lines where favorites of ours.
The only thing preventing me from a 5 star review is the journey there. On the way there we took hyw 289 which led onto 42. Would not recommend unless your on a motor bike. On the way back we took 488 that led onto 186 which was better but very windy. The roads are small. Bumpy. And sharp unsafe drop offs 50% of the way there. It took us 20 extra minutes because the roads were wet and very narrow we felt unsafe a lot of the time. We never met another car but we literally don’t know what we would have done if we did. I’m sure there are better roads that we did not take. But I would not recommend the “quickest and free” option route google maps will take you...
