It’s a nice place to enjoy skiing/snowboarding However if you are a complete beginner I would recommend going with someone who is comfortable enough to help you. The resort do offer a lesson for beginners but it’s a little bit high priced. There is a lift that takes you up the hill and there is a slope for beginners and others for professionals. There is also a place to enjoy a hot meal, they offer ramen and curry rice… To reach the resort, you could either go by car, or take the bus and make a reservation with their shuttle bus to pick you to and from the resort. You can rent everything in there except hats and gloves. General advice: Snowboarding requires you to have an upper body strength to be able to stand up once you secure the board on which is done sitting down. Skiing requires you to be able to coordinate the movement of your hands and legs… So chose what...

This place was SO much better than another place we went to last weekend! This place actually has snow covering every bit of each of the routes, some periodic jumps you can take or not take, some steeper slopes towards the top and more gradual slopes towards the bottom, and it's closer to base than the other places. This place is awesome for beginners such as myself. Today was only my second attempt at snowboarding ever and I improved immensely in comparison to how I did my first time at another resort. I'll admit, my improvement could be considered normal BUT given that this place actually had snow all over the routes and there were not rocks or mud patches or planks of wood in the middle of the route, I had the confidence to relax a little more and not be so afraid of each and every fall I took. I wish I had done...

Megahira Onsen Megahira, often just known as Megahira, is a ski area in Hatsukaichi City in the western region of Hiroshima Prefecture.

The ski area is on the eastern slopes of Megahirayama and has one 1,000m quad lift and four pair lifts (655m, 817m, 200m and 461m). Snow making machines help out nature when required.

It is less than two kilometres from the Yoshiwa IC exit on the Chugoku Expressway. Along with the very small Mominoki Shinrin Koen (also in Hatsukaichi City), it is one of the closest ski areas to...

Hard to access via public transport, but you can take the expressway bus from Hiroshima station (1750 yen) each way, and then take the free shuttle bus from there. You need to make reservations for the shuttle bus from their website. Just email them and they should get back within one working day.

Great place for beginner snowboarders and skiers like me. They do have store on site that sells gloves, mask, goggles and other things but a little expensive. They also have several restaurant. They have lifts. No parking fee or entrance fee. Awesome place. Definitely coming back here again.
