Ropeway was great, the ski chairs were amazing. It's 3300 yen for a combo return ticket on both transport, but it's well worth. There were so many wildflowers to look out for. Ropeway takes you to the 7th station. There's an eatery with really friendly owners(?)/staff(?). Food was good too. There's also where your last toilet is. There are none further up. Ski lift brings you to the 5th station. The hike to the summit is for serious hikers. You gotta come equipped with all your gears if you want to go for it (we tried and made the smart choice to abandon). Casual visitors can take the trail to see the falls. Read moreOur room (2508, West Tower) was very nice! We booked a tatami room and got upgraded to one with beds (fine by me). There was a carafe of ice water waiting for us when we got in and you have a view of the river from the room.
There are three onsen and we only tried the two with an outdoor area -- for all we know the third may have been the opulent one with drinks available, but we ran out of time in our one night stay.
Food was ok. The buffet layout led to a clog around the salad / fruit / dessert / sashimi area during dinner and the food was just always a bit too salty and sweet...

A little later, another person approached and at first it looked like they were going to ignore that person as well. Then the person said, “日本人です” (I am Japanese), and suddenly they answered all their questions.
