In my opinion, this is the best science museum in Japan, especially for children. The museum offers a hands-on and interactive approach to learning that makes science fun and easy to understand. Every exhibit is designed to explain complex scientific concepts in a simple and engaging way. Children are encouraged to touch, play, and experiment with the displays, which enhances their curiosity and creativity.
One of the most impressive features is the use of a thermal imager to explain temperature differences. By showing hot and cold areas in different colors, children can visually understand the concept of heat distribution. This kind of visual learning makes abstract ideas more concrete and memorable.
The museum also includes sections on physics, biology, space, and robotics, all tailored to young minds. Staff members are friendly and often conduct live science demonstrations that further capture the interest of visitors.
In addition, the museum’s layout is well-organized, clean, and family-friendly. It provides a perfect environment for a full day of educational fun. Whether you’re a tourist or a resident, visiting this museum will definitely leave a lasting impression on both children and adults. I highly recommend it for a meaningful and enjoyable...

The first half is a presentation about the present night sky conditions over Hitachi, highlighting interesting constellations and planets, and even presenting a beautiful time lapse. The speaker was very well versed and had a pleasing voice. The second half is usually a movie that is astronomy-related, when I went there it was about Pokemon. Definitely looking to go again once the science museum opens up...
