Hokuryu Sunflower Village is a breathtaking summer destination in Hokkaido, especially during its sunflower festival in late July to August. The fields are filled with over a million vibrant sunflowers that stretch as far as the eye can see, creating a stunning golden landscape perfect for photos and relaxing walks. The village is well-organized, with clear walking paths, rest areas, and food stalls offering local snacks and sunflower-themed treats. There's also a small observation deck that gives a panoramic view of the entire field. Families and photographers will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Parking is available nearby, and the site is generally accessible even for those traveling with kids or elderly family members. It's a must-visit if you're exploring central Hokkaido...

We rented a car in Sapporo back in July and took a day trip to see Farm Tomita and Hokuryu Sunflower Town. The sunflowers are beautiful! We rented bikes (only 100 JPY for an hour) and biked along all of the different fields. Walking would take a while, so biking was definitely the best way to enjoy the expanse of flowers.

I can't speak about the vendors and food because we unfortunately got there after the main pavilion had closed. I recommend going to the shops first if you get there in the early evening because the flower fields stay open later than the pavilion.

If you time it right, you can attend certain special events from the town's matsuri. We weren't there on the days of the fireworks or the other...

We go there in late july and some of them not blossoms yet. Maybe better to go there in early august

That's okey because it's natural, unpredictable always. The park have good facilities to enjoy, we can take a bicycle or semi open caravan. Sowry i don't know how to say that. In the middle of the farm they're a amazing photo zone. We can go inside for about 300JPY, we just in to it and create great photo angles.

To go there we just queueing on bus stop no 1 from takikawa station from sapporo station. And get off at hokuryu junior high school

Hope they have a space for take a pray for moslem travellers. Just a small...

Most beautiful scenery I have ever seen! Really worth it because getting there wasn't the easiest. You will have to take JR then change to a bus and the bus timing wasn't the friendliest, if you miss the timing for the bus then good luck to you. Best if you could rent car and drive there cause there are plenty of parking spaces. But I really had fun there and took a lot of pretty sunflower photos. If I could feedback, it will be best if they can provide some sort of transport services for visitors who don't drive.
