Read moreWe rented a car in Sapporo back in July and took a day trip to see Farm Tomita and Hokuryu Sunflower Town. The sunflowers are beautiful! We rented bikes (only 100 JPY for an hour) and biked along all of the different fields. Walking would take a while, so biking was definitely the best way to enjoy the expanse of flowers.
I can't speak about the vendors and food because we unfortunately got there after the main pavilion had closed. I recommend going to the shops first if you get there in the early evening because the flower fields stay open later than the pavilion.
If you time it right, you can attend certain special events from the town's matsuri. We weren't there on the days of the fireworks or the other...

That's okey because it's natural, unpredictable always. The park have good facilities to enjoy, we can take a bicycle or semi open caravan. Sowry i don't know how to say that. In the middle of the farm they're a amazing photo zone. We can go inside for about 300JPY, we just in to it and create great photo angles.
To go there we just queueing on bus stop no 1 from takikawa station from sapporo station. And get off at hokuryu junior high school
