Great little hidden gem in the middle of yamanashi. The main reason people come here is for the breathtaking view from the top and the numerous seating options that make it more instagrammable.
Pricing is not bad, I cant remember the exact price but it's pretty standard pricing for using a gondola.
There are couple of food options. There's a cafeteria with two shops at the bottom. One sells sandwiches and the other sells more restaurant style food like grilled chicken and pasta. Price are a little expensive but not too bad. At the top, there are 2 cafes. I didnt check one of them put but the one I did had only drinks and sweets.
View is amazing you'll never get bored of it. There a couple of seating options. There the main beds which anyone can use, there's an hourglass next to each bed once the time is up then you should honor it and let the next people jump on. Some beds have 30mins and some have an hour I think. There are also reservation beds which you do through the site I believe. And there also bench and table options as well.
The place was surprisingly relatively crowded especially on a Monday and no buses that reach the place as they have been suspended due to COVID19.
Which brings us to accessibility. It's almost impossible to get to without a car. Usually there's a bus that takes you there, but that are suspended so the only way to reach it is by taxi or bicycle. Problem is there aren't many taxis in the area and the bicycle rental place also have very few bicycles available if you didn't make prior reservations. We almost didn't make it back to the station on time to catch our train, we had to get staff to call a taxi and had to wait about 40mins for one to arrive.
All in all, great place that I highly recommend if you have the means to get there. Also it's doable for a day trip from Tokyo, it takes roughly 3 hours by train to...
Read moreThis is a really friendly and efficient resort with well maintained slopes. Incredible views and great food right up the top.
The bottom station has rental, ski school, equipment shop, food options. Short walk from the car park.
It is ideal for beginners making the transition up to intermediate - this mountain allows you/your kids to do more white and sense of security. If you are already intermediate there is part of one slope that allows you to become comfortable with the idea of skiing black runs with confidence.
If you are an advanced skier, the views of the mountains rising above you could be frustrating; if only I could reach up there; or there; or there! You may need to re-orient your expectations to working on improving your style or enjoying the forest on the chair or gazing at Mt Fuji.
BEST FOOD AND VIEWS ARE UP THE WOODEN STAIRS TO THROW DECK UP ABOVE THE TOP LIFT. Soup is my pick; pizza was my bf’s.
This is a lovely spot...
Read moreA nice ski resort where there are rich courses for every skill level. You can rent ski equipment for every age. The ski school is great, there are even English speaking teacher to teach foreigner. The staffs are helpful, although not all of them speak English, they will try their best with body language to let you understand. There choice of food is very limited but the quality is good. There are not many skiers or snowboarders, so there is no waiting for the lift. The mid-cafe is a nice get away from the waiting parents down at the main building. There are some ticket combo to save you some money. I find it amazing that there are only little asian tourists...
