Date of enjoyment: 12/4/25 Came here on a weekend and it was madness, but organised chaos. We can’t park in the usual car parks, we had to go to another carpark ( free of charge) which is well directed and signed, then pay for a ticket 500 yen and catch a bus to visit hanamiyama park from the car park which is a short 10min bus ride. Do come early and once you arrive at the park, the walk towards all the plantations is stunning and it’s all maintained by locals. There were heaps of varieties of Sakura and they were in full bloom, truly a stunning sight and hayfever at its max. We decided to walk the longest trek which took roughly 60mins and rewarded with the view at the mountain top of Fukushima city. The walk back down the hill was also pleasant and there was a matsuri food stalls at the end of it all, you can spend about 2-3 hours at this venue which is great value for a...

So so beautiful!! Lives up to its name because it’s the prettiest hanami spot I’ve ever been to. I didn’t know when to come and I was waiting for somei Yoshino to be in full bloom in Fukushima, but coming here I realized it doesn’t matter as much because Somei Yoshino is just one of dozens of species of flowers that contributes to the beauty of Hanamiyama.

Walking the Hanamiyama trails is nice, but more importantly you must also walk the trail on Ikebana no Sato! This is the mountain facing Hanamiyama and has an entrance near the bus stop/parking by the food stalls. I thought the view from there was even better than Hanamiyama… it was so breathtaking and the colors are so bright. It takes about 30 minutes supposedly but I’d spend longer than that taking pictures and...
