Amazing museum! We made our own shimenawas out of rice that is grown locally right across the street. We learned about the process of making the sacred ropes. They made the famous sacred rope for Izumo Taisha! Their gift shop is adorable, they have small shimenawas for 500 yen that make great gifts.
