Niko Deep / Nikobuchi — Attraction in Ino

Absolutely stunning deep water pool with an impressive waterfall. It can get very crowded here in the summer, but I am told winter is the best time to see the now famous "Niyodo Blue" water color.

I visited early in the morning in early February. Even though the sun was not hitting the water, it was very beautiful and calming. Plus, there was only one other person there :)

The path down to the pool is very steep and although steps are being installed (the waterfalls are closed to the public until April 2020 while they are installed) I would still recommend wearing good shoes (avoid sandals and high heels) when visiting.

I have noticed some reviewers mention that there are no signs saying not to swim in the pool, but they do exist. This is a spiritually significant spot for local people and they discourage swimming in and even...

Stunning waterfall, the whole place set in an impressive gorge with steep mountains all around and distant waterfalls visible higher up in the mountains. Beautiful moss and cedars everywhere and a nearby Shinto torii gate perhaps most representative of its separating the mundane and divine worlds than any to be found in Japan. Not to be missed! If you cant find calm in this mountain pass, well….

Also incredibly easy to get here on the bus from downtown Kochi and the views along the way are spectacular! You might also get to meet Yuki, the super friendly bus driver. Locals have arranged private taxi hires for reduced rates also which will save you some walking.

2024年10月3再更新。新たににこ淵の写真を見つけので、載せました。朝一番に行くとにこ淵はこんな感じです。日光が当たっていないので、薄暗く感じます。やはり、にこ淵は、昼から午後の15時頃が一番キレイに見られる時間帯です。2024年9月12日更新。にこ淵の本当の見頃は9月頃から1月頃と言われています。日光が直接差し込む午前11時頃から午後15時頃が最も見頃です。天候や水量、その他の気象条件によって見え方が異なります。仁淀ブルーは藻類の生育や、光の加減で色を変えるので、季節を問わず一年中見ることができます。春は新緑、秋は紅葉、夏は水量の多い時期で迫力があります。冬は透明度が上がるため、より純度の高い仁淀ブルーを楽しめます。なので一年で一番透明度が高くて不純物などが少なくなる11月頃から1月頃が一番キレイな仁淀ブルーを見ることができます。また地元では、水神様の化身の大蛇が住む場所として近寄られていません。ちなみにここの階段がかなりきついのでお年寄りや小さな子供たちには厳しいかもしれません。無事階 段を降りられても 滝壺まで大きな岩がゴロゴロしてます。この岩をよいしょと降りなければ滝壺まで近ずくことができません。また、にこ淵は今や全国区レベルの人気観光スポットになってます。外国からの観光客もたくさん訪れています。 絶対にごみのポイ捨て禁止です。皆さんが 気持ちよく観光できるように心がけたいものです。ちなみにハイヒールや滑りやすい靴は絶対NGです。運動靴でいくようにしてください。ここでこけて大怪我した人がかなりいます。ここに行く時は、気を付けていくようにしてください。最後に言わせていただきます。大雨の翌日に迫力のある滝を見に行かれる方もいらっしゃいますが、にこ淵の場合は階段を下りると直に滝壺に近づけるようになっているため、大雨の後は、大変危険な状態になります。大雨の直後はにこ淵にはいかないようにしましょう。にこ淵には、遊歩道も展望台もありません。間近に見られるのがにこ淵の魅力です。事故に遭わないためにも 自己責任が必要だと思います。もう2〰️3個注意すべき点があります。下りやすくなったとはいえ、ここの階段が一段一段が結構段差があります。足腰悪い方や小さなお子さんにはオススメできません。もうひとつは、手すりが金属なので、かなり熱くなります。これもやけどに注意してください。ちなみににこ淵が一番キレイに見える時間帯はよく晴れた日の正午から午後14時ぐらいまでがベストです。これは夏の季節を基準にしています。冬だとまた時間帯がずれます。にこ淵にいく時期は、子供たちの夏休みの間はやめておいたほうがほうがよろしいかと思います。この時期は県内外や、外国からの観光客が一年で一番集中します。駐車場に車が停められないほど渋滞します。仮に停められたとしても 下まで降りて行くのにも観光客の渋滞です。 駐車場のことですが、第一番駐車場から第11番駐車場まで数字を書いた看板があります。にこ淵の近くに停めるなら、第６番駐車場か第７番駐車場か第８番駐車場が一番近くに停められます。 にこ淵にはトイレはありませんが、かなり離れた場所に観光...
