It takes a bit of finding and is off the beaten path but this beach is so good. Very close to guesthouse Iriwa if you’re staying there. You can see peacocks on the way if you go early and quiet enough. It’s isolated so there’s hardly every anyone here but it’s still a beautiful beach, especially the view. Great place to watch the sun rise, and also the snorkeling is really good, the water stays around 6-10 foot deep for at least a mile or so out. I didn’t feel in any danger swimming way out, and the further you go the more you see. Lots of fish, and I even saw a sea turtle, needle fish, puffer fish, and a small sea snake. Read moreA cozy, private-feeling beach. However, especially during winter, ocean currents bring large amounts of marine debris with Korean and Chinese writing. Occasionally the Ishigaki City government and volunteers clean up, but trash washes ashore almost daily. It's not widely known that nearly all beaches in Ishigaki face similar circumstances. We tourists can enjoy these beautiful beaches only because there are people working behind the scenes to maintain them. Let's not forget this. Note that collecting large amounts of trash and abandoning it on the beach is not acceptable. Without going through proper disposal procedures, trash remains trash. There were two couples taking their wedding photos here, so I guess they know what is good 👍 Google map will have a good directions to the road leading to it, but you can keep driving a bit further down the road and there's plenty of room to turn around.
