An interesting museum dedicated to Hasekura Tsunenaga, an envoy sent by Date Masamune to try and negotiate a trade treaty with Spanish Mexico, and the made-in-Japan galleon built to make the voyage. It’s got history, a short film about Hasekura, an exhibit featuring materials from Japanese films, lots of reproductions of things that would’ve been on the ship, and a small-scale replica of the original.
