Oyashirazu Pier Park - Furusato Activity Center — Attraction in Itoigawa

An ideal stop along the Japan Sea coast! Easily accessible from the expressway or highway, there's everything you need for a nice break on a road trip.

The beach is rocky, and the rocks are interesting enough that people come here searching for jade. It's a great chance to collect and play with rocks of different colours. You can get in the water, although the beach setup doesn't make that very appealing.

There is a great restaurant with wonderful views, which is both good and inexpensive. There are other places to eat that we didn't investigate, plus public toilets.

Highly recommended if you are road...

It's a beautiful place, it's suitable for those who travel to rest and visit as well, there is a big turtle inside that was adapted to the construction of this place because it is close to the sea, the view can relax and you can breathe fresh air...

Sometimes they do pretty cool events here, although most of the time is just a simple display about the Itoigawa UNESCO Global Geopark. Still, if you're at the Pier Park for lunch, to swim or just enjoy the gorgeous sea, it's worth checking...
