Jakuchi Gorge — Attraction in Iwakuni

Done camping at this in October. You can reserve your spot in advance. Very well equipped: there are restrooms and showers with hot running water (200 yen for 3 min) withing walking distance, tables with benches and a little store. The route to the mountain peak and back took us 6 hours, it leads you through all 7 major waterfalls and countless little ones. It was very exhausting, but adventerous! The trail is steep and gets tricky at times, so go prepared - proper shoes, hiking poles + knee/ankle supports, and a hoodie (the wind on the top was cold and strong). All in all it was...

Nice easy drive from Iwakuni. The trails were clearly marked and easy to follow, we had three young kids and only had to carry one of them the whole way.
