We really enjoyed visiting here. The aquarium is extremely well thought out in design and features a lot of fish you might find in the local rivers as well as more exotic fished further into the aquarium. Unlike other aquariums, this one takes you through a set route beginning with an elevator ride up to the top and then a gradual descent through different themed areas. Each area is very well sign posted with times that the fish are going to be fed.
Also, at the end there a sea-lion show which we recommend you take a seat at the front if you can as the sea-lion will come out to greet the audience during the show, most likely. There is an amusement park next to the aquarium, but there is really enough to enjoy in the aquarium for several hours. If you have young children, they will probably be satisfied enough with the aquarium.
There is also a huge AEON mall around 6 minutes by car from here which has a great range of places to eat if you are not tempted by the restaurants at the water park.
One thing to note is that the two side car parks are blocked off from driving through to the main car park during some months. If you park in one of the side car parks it takes about 10 minutes to walk to...
Read moreIt's not a big aquarium, you won't see dolphins, sharks, whales etc here, but it's got plenty of fresh water fish to see and the decore is pretty nice throughout. You can see the entire aquarium within 2 hours easily. Some small attractions are the sea lion show (a few times each day) and a spot that you can hand feed and touch fish.
Aside from the aquarium, Aqua Toto has plenty of other things to offer. There are multiple playgrounds, one of which turns into a water park in the summer. The fresh water river is a great spot to get your feet and your kids feet wet in a safe environment. There's probably a dozen restaurants, as well as food trucks. Very good variety for your tummy. Aqua Toto also has bbq spots you can reserve. They offer different bbq package menus for small, medium and large groups upto 16.
If you're passing through on the Hwy, definitely stop here for a look...
