A beautiful, 20 min ride from Kyoto. I took the road to the next village - Mizuo, a 3 km walk by the road. It is not a park, but a road. There are few signs of the way, but besides this there is nothing organized. The walking by the road is peaceful and quiet, full of green tall trees and the sounds of the river. I guess it's not ment for walking but it's fine for the beautiful view. I traveled on a rainy day and there was NO ONE. It was amazing to get a few hours of quite from the busy and crowed Kyoto. The last bus from Mizou is at 17:00 so it's better to get there by that time (or come back in...

京都市街から近くですが、桜や新緑、紅葉などの渓谷美を楽しめます。 ただ、特別な施設や建物はありません。本当に渓谷美を楽しむだけです。 保津峡の川と山、そして秘境駅があるだけです。

公共交通機関で行くのであれば、JR嵯峨野線で保津峡駅下車。または嵯峨野観光鉄道でトロッコ保津峡駅で、下車します。 尚、JRの保津峡駅とトロッコの保津峡駅は離れており、徒歩15分ぐらいの距離があります。 駅自体はトロッコ保津峡駅の方が古く、吊り橋があったりして趣があります。

車で行くのであれば、府道50号線を使いますが、道幅が細く離合が難しい道です。因みにこの道は2022年7月17日現在、大雨による路肩崩落により車の通行は出来ません。バイクや自転車、歩行者に関しては、工事の復旧工事が休みの休日などであれば通れますが、道幅が極端に狭くて危険なので、自己責任となります。
