Ryugado Cave — Attraction in Kami

This is my 3rd caves in Japan. It took about +/-1.5 hr to get here from Kochi station. Always nice to be in the caves during summer. Initially, I thought I would be the only one since it was morning and weekday.

I still like the Aikyoshido cave the best but this cave also gave me different perspectives of the art but the nature.

I thought this cave having narrow walk path up and down were quite nice because that should be how a natural cave should be. Interestingly, in the cave there were bats. Finally a cave with wild life. The previous I thought get to experience. Usually with bats due to the fecal it should be so sort of smell, but you don’t get to smell it here. And I finally heard the sound that bats made. Sorry, being living in the city you don’t get to experience it.

At the almost ending, there was a little movie clip. Initially I thought it was cool. But was also thinking whether it will have an impact on the bats? But maybe it might not. Many might miss it. So please ensure you don’t miss the little movie.

The cave is long and I take my own sweet time to enjoy the moment. As long as I catch my bus. No need to rush, enjoy 1.5hr. It really nice. I must admit the price is a little steep for 1200yen. Given that I already spent on transport one-way almost 1000yen. The staffs were friendly and enthusiastic. Like the vibe to help to kick off the morning exploration of unexpected art of nature!😊

I think it is still worth the effort to experience walking...

If your in Kami area Ryugado cave is worth a visit if you have a spare hour or two. Plenty of parking. Escalator to the ticket office or stairs if your fit. 1200 yen entrance fee. Free guide books in English. It's about a 1km walk through caves. Narrow path all the way. Well lit, with handrails and a few steps. If you have a good torch as well, you will light up some of darker places in the cave. Sometimes you have to turn sideways and breathe in to get through gaps. One part I crawled a few metres. Bit slippery in some places. Last part of cave is a few stairs, when your heading towards Heaven. When you reach the top exit, it's a nice walk down. Souvenir shops and some eating places there. I like the cave because it was narrow and windy. Lots of stalactites and stalagmites. Well...

爺やの車で訪問しましたわ。

こちらは日本三大鍾乳洞の1つに数えられることの多い場所ですわね。 龍河洞公式X（旧Twitter）アカウント様にも記載されている最終入洞17:00のリアルを良い意味で残しておこうと思いますわ。 龍河洞公式X（旧Twitter）アカウントは@ryugadou_kochiですわ。当日の開館状況などをポスト（旧ツイート）されておられますので、訪問予定の方は逐一チェックですわ。 時期によってはイベントが開催されており、営業時間が異なるそうですわ。夏にはナイト営業もしておられるとか…。

まずワタクシ達、到着がどう足掻いても16:50頃になる予定でしたので予め電話をかけさせて頂きました。電話口の女性の方は優しく丁寧でしたわ。公式X（旧Twitter）にも記載がある通り、17:00までにチケットを購入して洞内に入ることができれば基本的には大丈夫だが、現場の判断になる場合もあるとのことでしたわ。時間に余裕を持った訪問は大事ですわ。お互いの為にも。本当に申し訳がないですわ。 なんとか間に合った為中に入ることを許していただけましたが入った途端にヒンヤリとした冷気に襲われましたわ。鍾乳洞あるあるですわね。とはいえこちらは他の鍾乳洞とは少し違いますわ。

違うポイントその① 通路の歩きやすさ 基本的に鍾乳洞のお友達は頭上・足元注意ですが、酷く低い天井もなく、足元はかなり丁寧に舗装されていますわ。一部通路の横が水路の場所もありましたが落ちやすい場所ではない為気をつけて歩けば良いと思いますわ。 爺やもニコニコしていましたわ。

違うポイントその② 岩、カラフル過ぎる 赤、緑、黄色、青、パプリカの如くカラフルフレッシュですわ。勿論写真に映えるといった効果もあるとは思うのですが、暗い洞内では高低差がイマイチ分からないことも多いため、カラフルフレッシュのお陰で真上が見えないほど高いと認識する事ができますわ。 爺やはミネイロン及びマラカナンの悲劇を想起してシクシクしていましたわ。ニコニコからシクシクへと流れるように移ろいゆく様はまるで日本の四季でしたわ。儚く、美しいですわね。

違うポイントその③ 急な階段が少ない 鍾乳洞といえば暗く急な階段を上って下ってを繰り返す事が多いですが、こちらは穏やか〜普通レベルの階段ですわ。手すり付きですので安心安全、足元もカラフルフレッシュに照らされて安心安全ですわ！

半分以上進んだところで鍾乳洞といえば、なものが見られますわ。そう、皆様ご存知プロジェクションマッピングですわね。 爺やは大きな音に驚いてしまい脱兎の如く逃げてしまいましたが、鍾乳洞形成までと動植物の成り行きを対比させるような演出には驚きましたわ。一見の価値ありですわ。あとこの辺コウモリいますわ。

出口まで進むと遊歩道があり、道なりに猪突猛進すると駐車場へと戻る事ができますわ。 こちらの遊歩道、全てコンクリートで舗装されており、運営様には頭が下がる次第ですわ。 途中にあるお土産屋さんで包丁をしこたま勧められますので料理研究家の方は是非とも参考にして頂きたいですわね。

ワタクシ達が到着した16:50時点で駐車場は7割ほど埋まっていましたので、連休に訪問される際は空いている時間を見計らう必要があると思いますわ。注意点はそのくらいでしょうか。とても素晴らしい場所ですので皆様四国へ来た際はお勧めですわ。 修二と彰に並ぶギリギリの訪問になってしまいましたが、従業員の方は嫌な顔ひとつせず対応してくださいましたわ。本当に感謝...
