Nice and quiet place at about 20 min from Nara.

You pay 500 yen to access the park (basically you pay for parking) and then 300 yen per person to access the temple.

The temple is basically a walk outside around the complex. There are several buildings but they're not open to the public.

There are several engravings in the rock dating back several centuries.

The walk will give you a magnificent view over the valley.

Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet place. Not suitable for strollers and younger children; not suitable for...

Beautiful Hike and interesting history. The young caretaker there is so respectful and humble. Cute little cafe serving food and drinks. Views are amazing. Wear comfy shoes. Free parking about 60 meters down the road to the cafe where you start. Entry fee. 500y. Beautiful...

清少納言先生の枕草子で「寺は…」とお勧めされておられたので、笠置寺に行ってきました✨ 笠置寺ってどこ？？と思うくらいピンときていなかったのですが、奈良と京都の間、京都の南の方でした。 山の中に入っていきますので、運転はどっきどきでした、すれ違いは不可能！と半泣き（笑）帰りに知りましたが、ゴルフ場方面から行き来するとそれほど怖くなかったようですした😅💦

山の中の空気は澄んでいて、人気は少なく（帰るまで私達しか居なかった）本当にここが清少納言先生のオススメの…！？と、どきどきしながら階段を登ります。途中、綺麗な猫ちゃんが案内してくれたり、そろそろ上がっていくと、高さ15m...
