Weekday, August 2024 This is a temple on the Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage, which is also registered as a Japan Heritage site.

When you see the scale of the grounds, the stone walls, and the size and number of buildings, you can truly sense that this is an ancient temple deeply rooted in the region.

The grounds are well-maintained, making for a pleasant stroll.

The best season to visit is likely during the fall when the autumn leaves are in full color, making it an ideal time to take beautiful photos of the temple and the foliage.

[Additional Information] An entrance fee and parking fee of 500 yen per person is required. It seems that from the fee gate at the entrance, you can also hike up the trail on foot, in which case, you don’t need to pay.

Spanning two prefectures and five counties (Kyoto, Osaka, Wakayama, Nara, Hyogo, Shiga, and Gifu), it is known as the oldest pilgrimage in Japan and was recognized as a Japan Heritage site in May of Reiwa 1 (2019)."
