Learn about how silk is made. Also, get to try weaving for a small fee. The staff are lovely and patient on trying to show me how to do it.

But one of the other staff was a bit rude and not very hospitable... I asked for a change in colour of the thread (as we can ask for this and only my second time changing it) and she pulled a face to do it. On the other hand, she happily attend to the japanese kid next to me... There will always be a bad apple among many...

Nice sightseeing facility in Katsuyama with multiple services available. They have small restaurant/cafe/vendor depends on when. It can be a base station for your trip in this region. We rented a bicycle and went to a cycling trip around. With no steep hills, it could really be...

Wonderful experience coming here! We learned all about silk, right from the beginning with the worms to the threading. They have some crafts you can do too! We did traditional weaving with a look for about 600 yen each. Everyone there was super friendly...
