Ogawa Falls

Ogawa Falls is located in Minamiōsumi, Kagoshima, Japan, the town in the southern tip of the Osumi Peninsula. It is a 46-meter waterfall, 60 meters in extended width, in the midstream of the Ogawa River.

First off, great and beautiful waterfall. The water is so clean and the nature is flush. However, unless you go to the big parking lot (雄川渓谷駐車場) and walk about 15mins, you’re most likely on the viewing deck at the top (last photo) and won’t see or be able to do much. But once you get to the proper parking lot (free!) and start walking, you come across the beautiful scenery and the river which a lot of families will take advantage of and kids will be playing in at the halfway point. There’s also a small cafe and restroom at the parking lot.

Beautiful stunning waterfall. We didnt bother going to the upstream look out and you can tell from the pictures available why that may be the case. DO NOT go to the place google map takes you to. Go to "Ogawanotaki Yuhodoiriguchi Parking Lot". You walk 1200m one way upstream on a very well maintained and kept track to an observation deck where you can view the waterfall. Its an easy track and its doable in jandals. Theres a little cafe selling summer type food drinks desserts and toilets at the start of the trail.

You will need approximately 25 to 30 minutes to reach the end of the small valley. Mid May 2021 the stairs to get to the pond in front of the waterfall was under construction. There is also a wooden deck from which you can enjoy the scenery. Due to the rainfall there was plenty of water in the falls.

This waterfall is something unexpectedly stunning! Even on the way to the waterfall has amazing view with blue and clear water. Just be careful with centipedes on the hiking road and your arrival time. The sunlight will shine on to the waterfall in the morning only.

This place is a waterfall. There are no shops near here. Not many parking lots. Juice is sold in the parking.This waterfall is big and beautiful. There is a place where you can see a large waterfall from up close.

Yu “マユ” YaYu “マユ” Ya

A very nice waterfall that flows into a river twords the bottom of kagoshima. If you are traveling to the southernmost point I would say pass by! You can't get too close to the waterfall so keep that in mind.
