Very concerned about the "fox farm" and I do not recommend this place to anyone. First of all there were many signs telling what not to do but nothing about the red fox or why these foxes are even there. I asked and was told they just live there and reproduce. I was hoping it was a fox rescue or at the very least a place to learn and study the red fox. Upon entering there were a couple of foxes pacing as if looking for a way out. Then as we stepped into the the enclosure there are about 20+ young foxes in a glass enclosure. Some sadly just pacing back and forth. In my opinion way too many for comfort. Then we saw 2 very sad looking raccoon dogs in another glass enclosure. The outdoor enclosure was long but many were pacing and some looked very sickly and all were scratching. For me, it was a very sad...

Its opens at 9am to 4pm and admission fee is 500 yen for adults.
Once inside you got to keep moving there is one fox that seems to keep following you. The keeper mentions that its looking for food and will bite if we are not careful. However if rules are followed it seems fine. We just kept walking around and there was no issue.
Most of the other foxes were just minding their own business. Its quite interesting to note that they are quite active during winter. Keep a lookout and you will find foxes up on...

The North Fox Farm (ๅใใคใญ็งๅ ด) is located in Kitami, Hokkaido. It is a facility dedicated to protecting and raising the Hokkaido-native Ezo red fox (Vulpes vulpes schrencki). The farm has a natural environment without high fences or wire mesh, allowing the foxes to roam freely. Visitors can observe them up close but are advised not to touch them to maintain their natural behavior.
Compared to Miyagi Zao Fox Village, the North Fox Farm is smaller in size, but the foxes have more freedom as they are not confined within a designated area. On the other hand, Fox Village offers a paid fox-holding experience, allowing visitors to interact with the foxes more closely. While the North Fox Farm focuses on observing foxes in a natural setting, Fox Village provides a more interactive experience. If you prefer to appreciate foxes in their natural habitat, the North Fox Farm is a great choice; but if you want direct contact with them, Fox Village might be better suited for you.
