Kaijusen-ji — Attraction in Kizugawa

ここは163号からの車での入山をお勧めします。10分程で海住山寺の駐車場(無料)へ。坂道ですが道幅は広く安心です✋

創建は天平7年(735)聖武天皇の勅で良弁増正が平城京の鬼門に11面観音菩薩像を安置したのが始まり…その後、焼失も貞慶が承元2年(1208)に中興、海住山寺と名前がついたとある。

6年後、瓶原(みかのはら)と呼ばれる麓の地に平城京から遷都された恭仁京(くにきょう)が造営される。史跡のみだが後で見るが良い。

普段は山門から入り正面の本堂に向かうのであろう。本堂の前の詩を読み、ハイと答える。靴を脱ぎ、階段を上ると受付の女性が… 「拝観ですか?」ハイ ! 「お客様は先程入山料100円をお入れになりました、故に400円で結構ですよ！」 えぇっ、見ていたの?それとも音で聞き分けるの？とは聞けないも、親切に順路と拝観のポイントを教えてくれる。 こうくれば、お釣りの100円が"かやの木一本造りの11面観音菩薩様の賽銭箱へ行くわな😃

境内の南に立つ国宝五重の塔、高さ17'⁷m。数えると6重?そうなんですよ、裳階(もこし)と言って本来の屋根の下に付けた差し掛けの屋根と、心柱が2層目から伸びるのが特徴なんだな😉中の仏画は特別公開時のみ。
