Shakuson-ji Temple / Nunobuki Kannon — Attraction in Komoro

かつて、この小諸の地に「仏」の「ほ」の字も知らない、ひとりの強欲な婆ちゃんがいたんですね。

ある日、婆ちゃんが千曲川で貴重な布を洗っていたら、突然、牛が現れて布を角に引っ掛けて奪い取り逃走したんです。

婆ちゃんはひたすら牛を追いかけます。

ところが、40キロメートルほど追いかけた「とある寺」の境内で牛は消えてしまう。

婆ちゃんが途方に暮れていると、天空からありえないほど尊い霊光が射します。

婆ちゃんはその霊光のありがたさに涙を流しながら「仏」の存在を確信して、自らの強欲を悔い改めて安寧平穏の心を取り戻しました。

その寺こそが長野の「善光寺」です。

そして、その牛こそが、この「布引観音菩薩」が化けた姿だったわけですね。

以上をひとことでまとめると「牛に化けた布引観音菩薩が、強欲な婆ちゃんを善光寺まで引き連れて、一瞬にして仏の道に導いた」という話になります。

いやはや、実に「仏様マンセー」な、典型的に人を丸め込まんとする出来過ぎな話ですよね。なんかもう、こんなのばっかりじゃないですか。
