This destination is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking locations we've encountered on all our cruises. Its sheer scale and beauty are truly awe-inspiring. The Botanical Gardens are, without a doubt, the most stunning on the planet. The vast array of flowers and the diligent effort required to maintain this haven are a testament to its beauty. Upon entering, one's breath is taken away by the sheer magnificence of the surroundings. The experience is nothing short of mind-blowing. Our visit commenced with a delectable meal, followed by a leisurely stroll through the gardens. We felt as though we could have easily spent the entire day there, and still not have absorbed everything. In our opinion, this is arguably the most exceptional destination to visit while in Japan. Read moreI have been to the 3 most famous gardens in mito, Okayama, and Kanazawa but enjoyed this garden more. Peaceful with less people. Took #70 bus from matsue bus plaza stop 6. 700 yen one way but can buy a two day pass from the driver when you get off for 1050 yen. Can get bus schedule from tourist info booth next to bus plaza. Had a very nice lunch in the restaurant right next to entrance. The restaurants marked on the map look to be all for groups. This is next to tea house. Beautiful view of garden through floor to ceiling windows. Food was soba about 1200 yen to tempura and unagi for 2300 yen. English menu with photos available. Peaceful stroll through the gardens and surprise at the end of Sakura trees in full bloom around the parking lot...
