Shiga Fossil Museum — Attraction in Matsumoto

This museum has one big fossil: an ancient whale found in a nearby riverbed by a local grade schooler. The room that contains the one fossil is very nicely done (though all in Japanese), comparing it to a modern whale and talking about some of the other animals that used to live in the area.
