It was a crazy fortune to be here at the prime time for stargazing. Saw hundreds of Meteors, And took tons of photos.
These photos are basically Light Calibrated and not much else, crazy.
In terms of service tho, eh. We stayed in Cabin. Clerk says he can do a bit of English, but he didn't understand 'Scissors'. I ultimately used my half-assed Japanese to get through but this place certainly ain't for most foreigners. The whole 'basecamp' was riddled with 'Yurucamp' reference(mostly because of me and most of the non-camp savvy people who visit), with Hotto & Curry Ramen as menu, both of which were in the anime.
Clerk tho once again cocked up, they don't have scissors because, and I quote, 'you don't cut meat with scissor so no scissor Lol', and they sold us a damp ass firewood for 650¥/stock, and a fricking hand lighter to start a fire, of which was of course not enough. We ultimately put about a roll of tissues to start a fire. They ask us to put the linen covers on the bedding ourselves(and it was riddled with dead bugs), and return the cooking wares. Hassle to be sure.
Unless you are completely prepared for everything, be ready to spend, spend, spend. A dim ass Electric Lamp rent was ¥770, along with a Grill(our room did come with a BBQ grill that did not include a grill you cook on lol), and chairs/desk. They do charge you for everything, and you're stuck with the bill cause guess what, nearest market is about 20mins away with a car.
Again tho, killer location, I don't know what they did but the sky was crystal clear, no moon in sight, and vega, polaris, orion all in one view. But I deduct a star solely for how much greedy you could be to charge for the best.
If I have a choice to visit again I would go to Fumottopara, they are way more systemic. And they do charge you for stuff but at least the clerk isn't...
Read moreThe view here is truly remarkable, and it reminds me of the scenic beauty portrayed in the "Yuru Camping" anime. The sight of Mount Fuji from this spot is particularly captivating for a camping experience. I had high hopes of witnessing a stunning sunrise from my tent, but unfortunately, the thick fog obscured the view, leaving me with nothing but anticipation.
You'll need to pay ¥100 for every 2 minutes of shower time, and the shower rooms are well-maintained. However, be cautious as opening the door before you finish your shower will result in losing all your remaining time and money. The amenities are a short 2-minute walk from the lakeside campsite. The toilet is small and not that clean. The tap water is drinkable, so you don't need to worry about your water supply. Additionally, there's a 24-hour vending machine where you can find hot soup and drinks.
Adjacent to the reception area, there's a convenience store that offers a variety of Yuru Camping anime merchandise, along with basic provisions like bread, instant noodles, beverages, beers, firewood, and fire starters for your camping needs.
The weather is super cold, don’t forget your...
Read moreA very popular camping ground, famous for its view of Mt Fuji as pictured on the 1000¥ bill. The campground is clean and has restrooms, showers and a washing area. Unfortunately, the camping spots are not assigned and even with a reservation, you are required to find your own spot. We arrived quite late due to heavy traffic and had difficulties to find a suitable spot for the night as it was very crowded. We ended up parking halfway into the road in a spot where the floor was sloped, which caused some weird sleeping positions. We were also quite close to other campers and it didn't have the feeling of being out in the nature as we hoped it would, being surrounded by so many people. Even if the view is great, I would prefer going to another camp site that has designated spots for reservations and more space per camper. It was disappointing to find that you pay for something and eventually it's not guaranteed as you have to be lucky enough to find an open spot. You can still enjoy the view of Mt Fuji from a nearby viewing spot without having...
