The Tadami Line is a JR East train route that connects Fukushima Prefecture and Niigata Prefecture in Japan. It is a single-track, non-electrified local line train route that spans a distance of 84 miles, offering countless breathtakingly stunning views to passengers throughout the route, especially as it rides alongside the Tadami River. The route takes one through serene countryside—where way of life remains defined by a closeness to and with nature—as well as the mesmerizing border area between mountain foothills and flat land known as Satoyama. The train goes over a number of bridges on its journey, passing cherry blossoms in spring, greenery in summer, colored leaves in autumn, and...

A scenic spot to see the bridge with train passing over it. It is one of the iconic locations in Fukushima, I visited this in autumn to enjoy the view, this place is totally worth the visit. On a separate note, this place has three locations (at different heights), to enjoy the beauty, please choose the location as per your choice of camera, crowdedness of the place, will to climb some extra stairs to get a...

Truly a beautiful view. I saw other reviews mentioning that sometimes the paper schedule is inaccurate, so I tried to check the times online. It proved to be a little confusing, so I was happy when the train went by on time at 1:03pm. If you want to take pictures, I recommend arriving early to grab a spot. It’s only a few minutes walk from the roadside station for the closest...

We visited Tadami River Bridge on March 30th 2025, on a cold rainy day. Point B view is much better than point A. Point C is much better than point B. We didn’t have much time to climb up to point D. The train passing the bridge will add more to the beauty of the nature. If the weather is fine, we can see the reflection of the bridge on the water
