Though the lighthouse is a small attraction near the top end of Ikema Island and Miyako, you cannot even enter and get to the top. Access is limited to none. It would have been better to have this feature because Miyakojima’s surrounding waters are of amazing quality and it would be nice to watch it from top. However there are other cool spots to see the...

塔高22.84メートル、光達距離18.0海里の灯台です。 太平洋を照らす犬吠埼灯台の光達距離が19.5海里ですから、かなりの規模です。 初点灯は1940年12月22日。 1945年2月24日に灯台付近が米軍機による空襲を受けています。灯台は重要なインフラですから、戦時中はよく攻撃の対象にされたようです。実際福島の塩屋崎灯台では、米軍機の空襲で灯台職員が殉職されています。 ところで灯台などの白い被写体は曇天・雨天では映えないことが多いのですが、今回は晴...
