100メートル級の大型前方後円墳に南九州独特の地下式墓地、円墳など古墳時代前中頃(四世紀からの五世紀)の古墳を間近で見学できる素晴らしい所です！！！3号墳(当古墳群最大の前方後円墳)はなんと登ることができ、斜面には葺石と思われる石が所々露出してました。 看板の案内板もわかりやすく、ガイドさんも丁寧に古墳群について説明して頂いてとても面白かったです✨✨

凄く静かで広く、歩く🚶のに良い所です😄トイレも駐車場近くにあるので助かります😅入り口が、老人ホームの所を通って上がって行くので、わかりずらいですね😅

生目古墳群は１号、３号、２２号が四世紀中ごろからの築造となり２２号が五世紀に入るか入らないか位であろう。３号はこの時期における九州最大である。流石日向と言うべきか。また、１号は前方部が撥形で前期古墳の範疇にある。 ただ、１号にはどうやって行くんだ。道が無いぞ。３号なんぞは１４０m級だから大きすぎて遠く...
