Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium — Attraction in Nagasaki

Very good Aquarium with large groups of penguins. Watching the feeding was fun! Most of the animals also have enough space. Buying tickets is easy (machine at the entrance) and ¥ 520/adult is absolutely fair.

This aquarium is a must see if you are in Nagasaki and you love penguins. It's small, but has many different places to see the penguins, even on the beach outside. This was the closest I'd ever seen a penguin and it was really fun. Check the website for information about feeding times and make sure you see at least one. It might take an hour to get through everything at a moderate pace.

It was a bit difficult figuring out how to go to the Aquarium from Nagasaki, but when we asked the information desk in the Nagasaki station, they gave us all the details. I recommend you to go here if you want to experience the local tourist attraction! It is affordable, very kid-friendly, and incredibly educative. They also provides detailed explanation in English besides the Japanese so you will learn a lot from here too even if you don't understand Japanese.

Perhaps the only thing that's troublesome is due to the fact that reaching the location without private transportation is a bit tricky. Highly recommended if you are going by your private vehicles, not so due to the distance between the Nagasaki city center and the location...
