Use Google maps but look for the trail that takes you to the beach. It will automatically take you past the beach. Parking is very limited (approximately 8 cars will fit). The road is a dirt road only wide enough for 1 car. Noon need for off road capabilities, my Toyota bB made it down and back no problem.
I would recommend shoes for the little ones. Some glass is still very sharp and some rocks are sharp.

When I get there, I can't get it, there's a road closures so I have to go around to the other side of the road and take another route going to the beach.
