Chinen Castle is a Ryukyuan gusuku in Nanjō, Okinawa. It is the second oldest castle in the Ryukyu Islands. The ruins consist of the old castle to the east being made out of rock and the other newer castle to the west being made out of ashlar masonry.

This castle's walls have been partially reconstructed. There is no fee to get in, there are some old small shrines, and tons of bugs.

Good to add on your day trip through Nanjo! The site as water views. On the paths is more parts of the castle. I would suggest wearing boots since the pavement ends and becomes grass. Bring bug spray Free. Parking is across the entrance from the ruins. No vending machines...
