Nemuro City Museum of History and Nature — Attraction in Nemuro

A really interesting museum that’s free and contains lots of information about this area and the importance of the coast, from fishing to trains to communications. 根室市の資料によると、この施設はかって旧日本海軍の通信施設や、花咲港小学校の校舎となっていた🆗。

この建物を改修して貴重な郷土資料を、保存・活用する為、１９８９年(平成元年)からは、根室市郷土資料保存センターとして活用されていたのだ🆗。

その後２００４年(平成１６年)に、博物館法に基づく、博物館相当施設として指定を受けて、現在に至るとある🆗。

訪ねると外観は緑色の屋根に、正面入口周りは赤レンガ造りの、レトロでオシャレな、品のある建物だ☺️。

展示室も細長めな部屋と、小さ目な部屋が２室というシンプルだ。 展示物は日露外交史関連資料や、アイヌの遺跡関連、そして根室の自然に関する展示物である。

ホールの一等地にあるのが、何やらガッチリとした石碑(標石)である。聞くと日露戦争で勝った日本が、樺太の北緯５０度線から、南側を日本の領土にした際の、言わば境界石だと言う👀‼️。

石(標石)の四角面には、前後、左右にそれぞれ日本語とロシア語が、彫刻されているのだ👀‼️。

また日本語の正面には、大日本帝国と旧国旗、境界と彫られている👀‼️。

とくに貴重な国宝級の文化財が、地方の資料館にあるのか？...
