Nice Shrine. Not sure of the purpose of it. This is where the tree that grows into the Kayashima train Station is located. Sign at entrance says “Worshipers Only Alllowed.” Translated it only after I was inside taking photos for about 15 minutes. ...

京阪萱島駅の真下にあるクスノキとそれを祀る神社。環境省巨樹巨木林DBには以下で登録されている。 幹周り:7.00m、樹高:20m、登録No.45184、クスノキ クスノキは萱島駅大阪方面ホームの直下にあり、ホームと屋根を突き抜け伸びている。この特異な光景はここだけのものであり、京阪利用者であれば知らないものはなく、最も知られた巨樹ではないだろうか。 しかしクスノキ自体は下部は神社神殿や玉垣、幟で、上部はホーム構造物に囲まれその姿はごく一部しか確認できない。よく観察すれば幹周り7m級という巨樹の中でもかなりの大きさの...

旧社格は村社、京阪本線萱島駅の高架下に有り、神木の楠が駅のホームを貫いている、主祭神は菅原道真、豊受大神、萱島開拓の祖神、創建は天明7年(1787年)一帯は萱島流作新田と呼ばれる開拓新田であったがその鎮守として萱島開拓の祖神を祀る事と成り宗源の宣旨により豊受大神菅原道真が勧請合祀された、明治時代には村社に列格し「神名社」と言う社名であった事が明治12年の記録にあるが明治40年に一旦廃社と成った楠の隣の駅の下の敷地に京阪電鉄が社殿を造営寄進し昭和55年(1980年)「萱島...
