One of the most famous places for seeing hydrangea in Fukushima prefecture. This temple is very well maintained, calm place. Feel like a power-spot. Great atmosphere. Garden is beautiful, full of hydrangea and different other trees. There is a 10km long hydrangea road with 12000 trees. Free and big car park available on the other side of the temple. One of the most famous places for seeing hydrangea in Fukushima prefecture. This temple is very well maintained, calm place. Feel like a power-spot. Great atmosphere. 福島県二本松市に在る護法山高林寺、東北の紫陽花寺として知られている寺院、東北の紫陽花寺と言えば、死ぬまでに一度は行きたい世界の絶景で、有名な、秋田県男鹿市の雲晶寺もかなり有名ですね、私が訪れた時は時期が早くまだ余り咲いていませんでした、高林寺ですが、山号は護法山、宗派は曹洞宗、本尊は釈迦牟尼仏 寺内には約5,000株 三浦氏宅(寺向かいの家)約3,000株 高林寺前後の紫陽花ロード、約5キロの範囲に約8,000株、見頃は、いずれも6月下旬〜7月中旬 、程近くには、道の駅東和等も在ります、特に1993年7月17日に、故・石原裕次郎氏の7回忌大法要が「あじさい忌」として営まれた際、当寺から3000本の紫陽花を提供したことで注目を集めました、歴史、由緒ですが、室町時代の応永おうえい年間(1394~1427年)のこと。仙台にある洞雲寺の実庭祥秀大和尚じっていしょうしゅうだいおしょうにより開山、東和太田高槻の高槻四郎兵衛により開基された。以降600年余りの歴史を刻む。この太田高槻という場所は現在地から400メートルほど西に位置するが、宝暦年間(1751～1763年)の火災により建築物・書類等を消失、宝暦11年(1761年)に現在地に本堂が再建された。歴史的建造物、仏閣、神社巡り、パワースポット、癒し処、散策、散歩、参拝、福島県　二本松市観光、絶景、景色撮影、御朱印集め等好きな方訪れて見て下さい。

2023/6/24 訪問 二本松市のあじさい寺。 毎回、通りすがりに眺めるだけでしたが、今回初めて立ち寄ってみました。 あじさいの季節になると周辺に案内板が立てられているので、迷うことはないと思います。 お寺の向かい側に整備された広い駐車場があり、感じのいい女性の誘導員さんがテキパキと誘導してくれました。 長い坂道の途中にあり、駐車場入り口も少し狭い為、注意が必要です。 この日は観光バスの立ち寄りもあったりと、たくさんの人でにぎわっていました。 あじさいは少し早かったようで、やはり7月上旬頃が見頃かと思います。 高林寺前の道路の前後5km程続くあじさいロードも見応えがあります。 駐車場側にもあじさいがたくさん咲いていて、こちらは個人宅の敷地なのでしょうか。坂道を登って行くとカフェのようなお店があって、ソフトクリームやドリンクなどが販売されていました。
