The Ehime Prefectural Science Museum (愛媛県総合科学博物館), located in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture, opened in November 1994. It aims to deepen public understanding of science and technology, foster a creative culture supported by scientific advancements, and contribute to the progress of science and industry in the region.
The planetarium features a hybrid system combining the latest optical and full-dome digital projection systems, offering immersive shows that inspire contemplation about the universe, Earth, and life. The natural history section's renovation included updating the popular animatronic dinosaur exhibits and integrating new materials from the former Prefectural Museum.
The museum's building, designed by Kisho Kurokawa Architects & Associates, includes permanent exhibitions such as the Nature Hall, Science and Technology Hall, and Industry Hall, as well as outdoor displays. It features the world's second-largest planetarium, with a dome diameter of 30 meters.
