人吉市から日向市方面に向かう際に、椎葉村ルート（酷道）を行こうと思いましたが、災害による通行止めで迂回路含め通行不可だったので、R265を利用して、西米良村から西都市へ向かい、そこから北上するルートに変更しました。

その際に菊池記念館の看板が見えたので、休憩を兼ねて伺いました。

菊池一族の資料に関しては少ないが 農業資料が凄いかなり珍しい焼畑農業の資料が見れます キオロシの道具は凄いです木で出来た鎌のような棒一つで木から木に移り渡っていたそうです こんなもので木を登れるのが不思議です この記念館の場所は酷道265号の終点になります今まで走ってきた山深いこの地域を記念館でもっと知っ...
