2024.9.30 山形県西川町大井沢に鎮座する神社。 寒河江川上流左岸に位置しており、明治以前は大日寺と呼ばれる寺院で、月山参拝の一大拠点として栄えた歴史を有する。境内周辺は長閑な農村となっており、家屋も点在するが、門前町として栄えた面影は失われてしまって認められない。実際に参拝してみると、神社を訪れている感じはせず、寺院を散策している感が強い。鄙びた静かな境内には仁王門が佇み、起伏のある地形に従い奥へと進むと幽玄な雰囲気が漂ってくる。大日寺跡の地域は広く、栄枯盛衰の様が想像できる。 交通の不便な場所のため、車での参拝がお勧め。

神仏習合の歴史を感じる素晴らしい神社です。いい意味で寂れた感じが重みを増していると思います。訪れた時は天気が良く誰もいなかったので、ゆっくりと参拝を行うことができました。御朱印は神社を出て右折、200m先位行くと喫茶店の幟が見えそこでいただけます。参拝後電話をすると親切に場所を案内していただける...
