Iwaya river valley.(Shikoku Karst Prefectural Natural Park.) — Attraction in Niyodogawa

This is a great hike, though the trail is definitely not maintained by anyone. There seems to have been a recent (?) flooding of the trail, it is damaged or completely gone in some places. This makes it a rather challenging hike, we often had to remove branches from the path or even search to see where the path would continue. Some ladders and steps are also broken away by the flooding, requiring you to carefully place your steps. It took us about 2 hours from the starting point near the toilets all the way up to the second bridge. Not difficult in terms of length, but quite challenging due to the nature of the unmaintained path up the river bed. Though this also makes it an interesting hike, you feel alone and in wild nature. We did not see another soul on our hike. I don't recommend doing this hike if there is a chance of rain, as I imagine the river to swell quite a lot in that case, making the path very dangerous and impossible. Not recommended for...
