Numazu Port's View-O Flood Gate provides spectacular day and night views of Numazu City, Shizuoka, Mount Fuji and bodies of water that surround three of four directions. In the day, it is said that you can see Mount Fuji on a clear day. In the night, you are greeted by its luminous colours that light the observation deck and towers that support/move the flood gate, making it a sight in itself of the night.

Unfortunately, I was only able to visit during the night and catch the views during that time. However, with the December night that it was, not being cold on the outside and being warm inside the observation deck, it made for a nice, quiet overlook of the city interior and a hint of Mount Fuji resting behind a partly-cloudy night.

For 100円, you can get many nice photo opportunities up on the observation deck. Even at night, the lights-off interior and mainly-exterior lighting creates a relaxing... and, to some, romantic... ambience/aesthetic.

It's a must-visit during all seasons. Visitors to Numazu should make it a point to stop here and go through both sides of the port's inlet to discover what each side...

Visited this on a weekday. There is barely any people so it is quite nice that we don't have to queue up and get to enjoy the scenic views without much distractions.

The ticket price for adults is really cheap, only 100 Yen, so the price is negligible in all regards.

The view is very nice because it is 360 degrees, allowing us to view everything unobstructed. Moreover, some windows are opened, allowing us to take clearer pictures.

One problem is that some air-conditioned are switched off somehow (though the public can switch back on), making the second portion of the tower much hotter and stuffy.

Overally, this place is quite nice and worth a...

Splendid view of the sea and the town. Although on the day I went there, we couldn't see Mountain Fuji, the place was overall relaxing and there weren't that many people there. The price to get up to the observatory wasn't expensive. The wind was super strong, so if you go there on a specially windy day, be careful not to get anything blown away. The view of the view-o was beautiful looking from outside as well, since the sun was at just the right position, haha. If you're going on a hunt for a Love Live stamp, they...
