Ōdate–Kosaka Railway Railbike — Attraction in Odate

I came here with my wife and 7 years old daughter. We had a great time riding the rail bike. The ride was excellent. We rode along the river, and we even crossed a bridge. The store was only a short bus ride from the city. It gave us a chance to enjoy the nature of the Akita Prefecture, but without spending too much time commuting. Most important, the people were amazing. They set up a bubble machine on the bridge at the finishing line. The bubbles were in rainbow colour under the reflection of the sunshine. They spent so much time and effort to make a great experiences for everyone.

It was a great highlight of our trip. Highly recommended! My daughter enjoyed it so much. She spent 30 mins drawing and writing some notes after the ride in the store.

There was also a very nice outdoor onsen across the road.

We had a great experience riding the railbike! We went during fall and the colors were beautiful, especially when crossing the bridges The staff were all super friendly and helpful, even though we didn't speak Japanese, even asking us to wait inside while waiting for the bus as it was cold. Coming back toward the station wasn't easy so keep that in mind, but we thought it was a nice workout and the weather was nice for it. They also took a photo for us and gave us a copy as a free gift! I recommend making a reservation to be safe, but it also didn't seem super busy when we went on a Tuesday afternoon.

We visited Odate in winter for the Akita and saw this place pop up in Google. We came back in June and decided to go. It's definitely very fun and worth doing, super unique and ultra pretty.

We went with three people, a taxi from the station cost 2600jpy each way and getting to Odate via the ouu main line isn't super difficult.

We got given a free photo and we were able to store our bags as we came straight off the train.

A four person cart cost 3500jpy and it is very easy to use, going back up was a little more effort! Would definitely...
