Ryusenji — Attraction in Okayama

We visited during peak autumn and it was an amazing experience! All of the trees were red and there were almost no other visitors around (possibly because it was a rainy day), and it was just perfect for taking photos. The lakeside area was beautiful as well and felt almost otherwordly. I can't recommend this place enough if you're able to time it with peak autumn.

On top of it all, the two ladies working there were extremely friendly and helpful, despite us not being able to speak Japanese, and even insisted on giving us free guides and a free bag of yuzu senbei as a gift!

I think the only downside of this place is that it's definitely out of the way coming from Okayama, but it's definitely one of the top autumn foliage spots, especially if you want to take photos...

【2024年追記】 今年は辰年ということで、年末年始はNHKでこのお寺がよくうつりましたね🐉

岡山の紅葉穴場スポット🍁 晴れた日に行くと湖畔に空がうつり綺麗です

岡山市内から車で40分ほどで行けます。 車以外だとバス、電車はなさそうなので、駅からタクシーになるかな？

近くに日本三代稲荷の最上稲荷がありますが、龍泉寺のほうが落ち着いていて断然オススメです✨

最上稲荷から北へ10分ほど車で行くと龍泉寺に辿り着きます。 細い道が続くわけでもないので、車の運転が下手な私でも難なくいけます。

敷地内はとても広くて大きく分けて ・滝行のゾーン ・お寺本堂 ・池？湖？ ・身代わり地蔵 ・紅葉のゾーン に分かれてます。 軽いウォーキングが楽しめます♪

滝行といっても、流れは強くなく、初心者でもやってみようかなと思う水の量です。 自然の滝ではなく、竜の口から水がでてきます。

池自体が八大龍王様の御神体と看板に書いてありました。納得の行く綺麗でとても静かな池でパワーをもらえます。

【駐車場】 舗装されてませんが広々してます。 20台は停めれるかな？ 紅葉のシーズンは混むかもしれません。

【注意点】 道はどこもコンクリートで舗装されてないので車椅子、ベビーカーでの散策はお気をつけください。

【その他】 御朱印はお寺の階段手前、右手側に建物があり、そこでいただけます。...
