Saijo Inari-san Myoukyoji — Attraction in Okayama

風光明媚な田園にたたずみ多くの人を魅了する「最上稲荷」（さいじょういなり） ⁡

・最上稲荷 最上稲荷は数々の歴史舞台となった吉備平野で、1,200年間人々を見守ってきました。正式名称を「最上稲荷山妙教寺」といい神仏習合の祭祀形態が許された、仏教の流れを汲む貴重な稲荷です。お寺でありながら鳥居があるなど、神仏習合時代の形態を数多く残しています。

・大鳥居 高さ27.5m、柱の直径4.6m、総重量2,800tと規格外の大きさを誇ります。1972年に建立された後、2014年に改修工事が行われ、現在のベンガラ色に塗り替えられました。最上稲荷のシンボルとして人気があります。

・O-Torii Gate This torii stands 27.5 meters tall with pillars boasting diameters of 4.6 meters and weighs 2,800 tonnes. After being built in 1972, it was renovated in 2014 and repainted to its current color of Bengara. It is popular as a symbol of Saijo Inari. ⁡

This place has both a Buddhist Temple and a Shinto Shrine. It was very interesting. It was a little crowded with preparation for the new year festivities when we went, but we were able to park for a fee. The Buddhist portion seems better served than the Shinto portion when we went. 初詣で行きます。三が日は、多くの人々がお参りに行きます。車で行くとかなりの渋滞にあう可能性が高いですが、時間帯によっては、わりと空いていたりします。 参道には、多くの屋台やお店があり、お祭りのような感じもあり楽しいです。 けっこう山の上の方まであるので、お参りしながら見て回ると軽い運動にもなりますよ。 毎月、1日の1日参りの時もわりと人が多いです。

2019年元日 午前中はわりと空いていましたがお昼前からすごい人が増えた印象です。 ここにたどり着くまでの道路もすごく渋滞していましたが、昼前に帰るのはわりとスイスイと帰れます。 大晦日から年明けのタイミングもかなり多そうなので毎年元日の早朝～9時ぐらいに着くように行っていますがその時間帯はすいてる方だと思います。

2021年1月に参拝しました。 お正月の時期をはずして行ったのあり、いつもの年よりも人がまばらでお参りしやすかったです。 あちこちにアルコール消毒液も置いてありました。

2022年1月に参拝しました。 今年はけっこう人がたくさん来られていて、少しびっくりしましたが、屋台もたくさんありにぎわっていて、以前の活気が少し戻ってきた感じがありました。

2023年1月に参拝しました。 8日の日曜日の夕方に訪れたのですが、駐車場にたどりつくまでにかなり時間がかかりました。 たくさんの人が来られており、屋台も賑わっていました。 でも、日が沈んだ18時半頃になると、かなりまばらな人の数になりました。

2024年1月1日に参拝しました。 午前3時頃に近くに着きましたが、そこから渋滞で30分弱で駐車場に停めれたと思います。 ぜんぜん想定内の早く停められた方だと思います。 午前6時頃に帰りましたが、帰られる方も来られてる方もそこまで多くなくこの時間帯も初詣しやすいタイミングかもしれません。

2025年1月1日に参拝しました。 午前6時に踏み切りを越えた最初の大きな鳥居を通過して25分前後で麓のたくさん駐車場がある所に到着しました。 わりと早く着けた方だと思います。 猿回しの時間に行けて見れたので良かった。 午前10時頃に帰りましたが、踏み切りを渡った所の信号で左折をさせても...
