近江八幡駅前のレンタサイクル屋さんで普通の自転車を借りて走りました。平坦であるため普通の体力の人でも走れました。西の湖の自然の価値を感じることのできるサイクリングロードです。時期的なこともあったのか、途中の行程で羽虫がたくさん飛んでいて、手で払いながら自転車をこぎました。

全国に約130箇所くらい(滋賀県に2つ)ある大規模自転車道路の一つです。西の湖の南側から自動車道と並走することなく本格的なサイクリングロードになってます。とても気持ちがいいですが、割とゴミが多いです。

よく整備された、静かなサイクリングロードです。八幡堀に行った帰りにたまたまこの道を見つけ、能登川までランニングしました。琵琶湖岸とはまた違った趣があり、とても気持ちよく走ることが出来ました。
