大阪市旭区にある公園で、最寄りに大阪シティバス（旧市バス）の「新森公園前」バス停があり、こちら行きの路線があるので、大阪市内でもそこそこ知名度の高い公園となっています。 公園の西側にはロータリーがあり、そこを中心に道路が放射状に広がっています（私が数十年前に生まれて初めてロータリーというものを知ったのがこの場所です）。 公園自体は結構広く、遊具のあるエリア、広場になっているエリアの他、水はありませんが噴水があったり、この辺りが弥生式土器などが多く出土する遺跡であることを示す石碑と案内板などもあります。 公園から西に少し歩けば、京阪電車の森小路駅があるのですが、「新森」というのは「新森小路」が略されて定着した地名なのだそうです。

子供の頃より利用。近くにある公園では広目で小学生でも思いっきりボール遊びができます。 老朽化で遊具は随分減りましたが、小学生低学年位までなら遊べます。 昔は池もありアヒルがいましたが、今は噴水になって噴水も稼働していない様子。 桃の木があり、 毎年春には花を咲かせていましたがなぜか撤去されてしまいました。 春は桜がきれいで暇があるとふらっと見に行きます。 ちなみに地面の下には新森遺跡なる遺跡があり一時期は調査のため掘り起こされてました。フェンスがありましたが、乗り越えて入りいい遊び場でした。 以外に...
