This place presents an amazing view of Rumoi City. It's easy to hike and as a matter of fact can be reached by bike except during winter.

I got to visit Senboudai last Feb 11. This means it is covered with snow. The hike was challenging but it was rewarding when I got on top.

Heads up there might be bears in this area so better bring...

This place presents an amazing view of Rumoi City. It's easy to hike and as a matter of fact can be reached by bike except during winter. I got to visit Senboudai last Feb 11. This means it is covered with snow. The hike was challenging but it was rewarding when I got on top. Heads up there might be bears in this area so better bring a bear bell.

２０年ぶりに訪ねた。やや狭い道を上がりして駐車場に到着だ。スペースは狭いが１５台前後の駐車は可能だ☺️。 資料では海抜１８０mとある。なだらかな丘陵地帯で、聞くと留萌では、留萌港を中心に広がる、市街地を一望できる、　唯一の景勝地なのだ👏。 南側には、るるもっぺの憩いの森、も広がりしていて、聞くと幹周りが３㍍もある、ミズナラ等々の広葉樹が茂っているとの事だ👏。 中に推定樹齢が４００年代と言われてる、ミズナラの大木の千萌樹(せんぼうじゅ)があり、シンボルツリーと呼ばれている☺️。 ちなみに昭和３７年に、以前まで呼ばれていた三角点を、千望台と命名されている🆗。 また私財を投じて、留萌港築港、留萌線開通に尽力された、五十嵐億太郎の像も、１９８４年(昭和５９年)に建立されている👏。
