Went here primarily for the strawberry picking experience, in which you had to reserve online in advance for. The meeting place for the picking was inside the park right at the entrance which means you have to pay the entrance fee of 900yen in addition to the 1600yen for the strawberry picking. The session i chose was just strawberry picking which starts at 10:45am and lasts until 12:30pm. There are other gourmet strawberry pickibg sessions which are at other times during the weekends where after the picking session you are taught to make something with the strawberries like a parfait, cookies, etc and take them home. Note for the picking part, this is all you can eat with in the timelimit, and you are not suppose to take the strawberries home.Harvest hill opens around 9 so if you arrive early you can walk around the park and partake in some rides, which really is enternaining if you have children anong your group. You can also shop around in the market outside of the park in the parking lot. At the beginning of the indicated time, you are escorted out of the park towards the strawberries which is a 10-15min walk from the entrance of the park, there are 3 kinds of strawberries and the sell a condensed milk bottle to dip the strawberries in for 200yen, If you are full you can leave anytime and go back to the park with the other half of the strawberry ticket you received upon arrival. There is not much to do around here, so i suggest you either make do with a day at the park pick strawberries, ride some rides(which cost extra per), enjoy the garden or leave right after picking to go do something else. It is about a 45min to 1hour trip from central osaka. From osaka station travel down to izumigaoka station and outside take bus number 25 or 25-1 directly to harvest hill. The cost of bus is 290yen one way and is...
Read moreWent during mid October and weather was sunny. This place can get rather hot with the sunny weather and lots of walking. But I suspect it will also get pretty chilly if it was raining as this was what I experienced with Mother Farm in Tokyo (damn cold!). Attractions are opened but not all restaurants were opened when we were there midweek.
Note that if you use google map, it sometimes shows several train stations for the connection to the last mile bus journey and some of the recommended stations may not be the ideal one. Take the local train to Izumigaoka Station (also recommended by google). Once there, take the south exit and walk straight until you see bus stop #6 which has a sign that says Harvest Hill. 3 stops from here to reach harvest hill and less than 100m after alighting to reach harvest hill entrance. Do note the timing of the bus returning to the train station from the harvest hill bus stop - there is a...
Read moreWe visited this animal bio-park kind of place on recommendation. The park isnlarge and spacious with great views, and tons of animals that you can interact with! Price is about 1500円 per adult, cheaper for children. We went around and took pics with capybaras, which we could pet and feed ans were super friendly. We also visited the insect and reptile area which was even more fun! Holding Hercules beetles and all kinds of reptiles was fun, including getting shocked by an electric eel! The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable, and the facilities were clean and well maintained. The food court pizza was also quite good. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit if they...
