Beyond being the home for its most impressive collection of 20th-century artworks, the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art is a beautiful study of architectural design all unto itself.
As you make your way throughout the varying spaces of the Museum, take note of the architectural details of the building: The unique ways each of the spaces employs both natural and man made light.
You could easily spend an entire day inside the Museum without regret. However, you should be sure to plan your day to allow plenty of time to enjoy the bountiful nature of the grounds surrounding the Museum.
With the indefinite closure of the Rothko Chapel in Houston, Texas due to damage to the structure and three of its celebrated Mark Rothko murals by Hurricane Beryl on August 14, 2024, The Rothko Room at the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art is now arguably the premier venue for viewing the works of Mark Rothko as intended by the...

The works in the museum are Picasso and Renoir. It's a Rembrandt piece, and it's worth a look. I felt it.
I personally felt a strong attraction to it.
With a man in a Rembrandt broad-brimmed hat. Sylvette from Picasso's Sylvette.
Pause for a moment for both pieces. I looked at him.
The man in the broad-brimmed hat was a colorist. The light and dark are stunning.
I don't paint. I like appreciating art quite a bit.
Also, Picasso's work has a style. It's unique and fun to watch.
I was chatting with a friend when Mr. Sylvette I found Picasso in the studio next door.
Picasso painted Mr. Sylvette's portrait. (A simple portrait painted in Picasso's memory.)
I held it up and showed it to him.
I visited Picasso's studio. This painting for Mr. Sylvette. He drew it.
'I want to paint you! With "Sylvette
Picasso told Mr. Sylvette, who modeled for him. That's what he said to her.
As an aside, the works in the museum include
In layman's terms, graffiti? Some of the works that I thought were That's a fun way to watch it, 😸.
The large gardens are well-kept and well-kept, so you can take a stroll in...
Read moreThis museum came up in New York Times citing that it faces closure soon due to being a corporate asset which is not geared towards profit. Anyhow, this is an amazing private collection, probably one of the best in Japan considering it's scale of collections, ranging from a Monet waterlilies to Pollock, Rembrandt, Picasso, Rene Magritte, Max Ernst, Katsuhito Nishikawa, amongst many famous contemporary works. And one of the four Rothko rooms in the world (an experience in itself). Really impressive collection that focuses on colours (well, the main corporate company deals in pigments) and the emotions they evoke.
The museum architecture and the huge land it occupies is something else...
