Had an extra day to kill in Sapporo during the summer and decided to try Satoland. Was pleasantly surprised with this free attraction. We easily spent 2-3 hours here. The kids had good fun riding the silly bicycles around. They only allowed us to rent the bicycles for 1 hour (JPY300) - it appears that there's no option to rent it for longer (or maybe our Japanese was not good enough to explore this option). Would have been nice to rent it for longer so we could ride it to the playground, play around, and ride it back to get back to the car. Note that there are a number of carparks - googlemaps led us to carpark 6 but the bike shop is at carpark 1.

The playground, massive slide and bouncy feature was awesome - so much space to run around!

The nice old men running the bike shop could speak some English and helpfully gave us an English version of...

We spent the Saturday of Obon week at Satoland. We were nicely surprised it wasn t crowded at all, thanks to the large park and facilities. The staff is extremely friendly, no entrance fee to the park and a variety of family friendly activities available for a very small fee (farm animal visit, horse riding, DYI ice-cream/art craft, milk factory visit, bicycle rental, fruit/vegetable picking, sunflower maze, athletic park, summer matsuri activities for kids, etc) As food option, there were 2 restaurants and a BBQ house for very reasonable price, also an outdoor BBQ area that can accommodate large groups (can bring own food). It s outside city center, but has large parking areas and buses stopping by. It s a great initiative to promote local agriculture while creating a nice and affordable outing for locals and...

Pretty fun place with lots of activities for families. BBQ spaces, bicycle rentals, rental garden space and etc. plus there's no entrace fee/parking fee(depending on where you park i guess) for the place itself, however some activities might require a little fee like giving treats to the animals(currently 100 yen), riding the onion train and etc. It's accessible either by car or bus(bus stop within the establishment's premises), this i find very nice! Also, a warning when renting bicycles though, when you leave them on the bicycle parking spaces or wherever you park them, be sure to lock the breaks! we had our bikes stolen twice whenever we come here-reason was the culprit didn't know the bicycles were not free...so have the staffs at the rental area teach you how to...

"The latest wooden athletic playground equipment just completed." Opened on 29 April 2023, the newly completed wooden athletic playground is more than just a one-time visit. With a wide variety of athletic equipment, it is suitable for everyone from pre-schoolers to adults. The equipment is state-of-the-art, but it should be noted that woodchips are laid around the play equipment for safety. Also, each piece of equipment has helpful instructions on how to play and a recommended age range. There is also a slider and a ropeway to spark children's curiosity. If you are coming by car, the sixth car park is the closest. Toilets and vending machines or in the exchange hall right next door are convenient. Let the kids play as long as they like! Parking:Yes free

Agriculture wonderland where you can roll around in the clean green grass fields and go cloud-watching, or cycle through green pastures. There's a kids playground here and the whole architecture is made of firm wood. If you're travelling with your family and kids, I definitely recommend you come here, especially since it's just a walking distance from Moerenuma Park (another place to visit) They have canteens for food so you don't have to worry about getting hungry, and there's also fresh soft serve ice cream. There's a feeding areas for baby cows and rabbits, as well as crops area where you can learn farming!
