Sasaguriyama Ichinotaki Temple - Sasaguri Shikoku Sacred Site 40th Temple — Attraction in Sasaguri

What an amazing visit to this magnificent temple on the Sasaguri Shikoku. I basically roamed around Sasaguri for 2 days and hit around 20 of the 88 temples. This one was my absolute favorite. The temple buildings and objects of devotion are beautifully integrated into the natural surroundings. And the waterfalls... ! Incredible ! And so is Sakuragi ! He's the monk I chatted with for about 45 minutes or so. You know with a tiny bit of help from Google Translate and some, we were able to talk about a wide variety of subjects indepth - Buddhism, lighthouses, practices, beliefs, and a bit about myself. I had a really good feeling about my Japanese language ability talking with this impressive man. He's a monk with the Shingon of Buddhism, and I could only wish I could be like him. I left here with a big smile knowing I had completed my henro. No not really, I'll be in Fukuoka in a couple weeks for a few more days. 篠栗四国八十八霊場・第四十番札所です。一ノ滝と名前がつく理由なのかは解りませんが、実際に瀧があり流れ落ちる水の音、水しぶき、傍にいくだけで不思議な気持ちの良い感覚に陥ります。又、沢山の仏像や羅漢が祀られており、その数に驚く方も多いのではないでしょうか。敷地内は広く階段を上り上から敷地を見下ろせる場所もありますので、折角ですから敷地内を散策してみると良いのではないでしょうか。又、毎月の様にお寺の行事もあるようですので、行事の日に合わせて訪れるのも良いかもしれませんね。御朱印を頂きたいと言われる方は、お守りなどを扱われている建物もございますので、こちらでお願いしたら手書きで丁寧に書いてくださいます。可愛らしいお守り等も販売されていますので、一緒にご購入されてみるのも良いかと思います。寺院を訪れる際は、それ程車道が広く有りませんので、十分に気を付けて運...

正面に本堂、左側に鐘楼その先に お目当の滝この滝は 男滝14㍍と女滝5㍍の二本の滝で構成されて入る。 この滝は昔から山伏の行場があり、札所開設以前から尼僧さんが守る薬師堂があったという。 1977年に宗教法人篠栗山一ノ瀧寺 となる。

本堂中央に薬師如来、左右に白衣観音、弘法大師が祀られている。

さて滝は力強く流れ心が洗われるよな気持ちの良さ最高です。 山奥まで来たかいがあります。🤩
